Austin Heart

Continuing Medical Education (CME)
Austin Heart seeks to support you and your practice by offering educational opportunities that will allow for the exchange of the latest ideas and approaches to common and complex cardiovascular problems.
Our Education Committee is composed of the following physicians:
SHAPE (Society of Heart Attack Prevention and Eradication)
There are over 1.4 million heart attacks each year. Over half are first-time events and one-third will result in death. Austin Heart invites you to help us improve these statistics by becoming our partner in the SHAPE-UP initiative. SHAPE-UP is an innovative approach to identify the asymptomatic population potentially at risk for a future cardiovascular event so treatment can be initiated early to eradicate the disease. Primary care physicians play a crucial role in identifying this at-risk population so that we can proactively alter the progression of cardiovascular disease. Austin Heart is a member of SHAPE and is providing one-on-one educational program about SHAPE-UP at the PCP’s office. One hour of CME will be awarded for this program. To make a reservation to have the SHAPE-UP program delivered to your office, contact Shelley Reed at 512-296-6532 or by e-mail.
